I have seen them done at Baskin-Robbins, it is an edible ink transfer and can be done when the cake is frozen, call you local store and Dairy Queen doe them to, I set up a printer for a place in my side line business.Can you put a picture on an ice cream cake?

yes you can, but you cant print the image at home, its a special printer, with food coloring ink and rice paper.
The only way to apply it to something like a ice cream cake is to adhere it to something that wont melt into a puddle in 10 minutes, like a whipped topping or actual icing.
I suggest going to baskin robbins or dairy queen and asking there; they can probably do it for you.
